A Summer of Design for Wavehunters

Image
It has been a busy season for our friends at Polzeath beach, Wavehunters. We manage their design and this year they have been keeping us busy!! We shared recently about the trailer we branded for them, see here . We have also produced some brand new brochures, lovely uncoated booklets with one colour wraps showing all that the team have to offer.  This year the company has really expanded with Wavehunters Marine running boat trips out on the sea, spotting all sorts of beautiful wildlife - puffins, dolphins and seals! So the brochure we designed needed to show all the courses and lessons they offered, surfing for kids, grown ups, groups, stand up paddle boarding and of course, those boat trips. We used large characterful photographs full of colour to complement the monochrome branding. The brochures were left in key locations in Cornwall, like St. Moritz hotel where we designed a feature wall - organising the photographs, sign writing and vibe of this point of sale. ...

Wavehunters Trailer at Polzeath

Image
It is busy busy in the studio at the moment! Some great work coming our way. One of our oldest clients is Wavehunters, who run a surf school at Polzeath. We have been producing their leaflets and brochures and they wanted to up their profile as they had expanded to now include Wavehunters Marine, trips out on their 9m RIB powered by 2 x 175 hp engines. They offer Sea Safaris, water taxi and private charter from Rock. So to improve their presence on the North Cornish coast we created vehicle graphics for a trailer they have on Polzeath beach. The trailer offered a great variety of advertising for the brand, we needed to showcase the surf school and boat trips making sure people knew all their water sports. On the front of the trailer we set up three areas to be painted with blackboard paint where the latest dolphin sightings together with surf conditions could be written. We have also created a photo-wall where people can take selfies to promote on social media that association w...

Cornish Cottage Branding and Design

Image
Having our design studio based in beautiful Cornwall means we often design for accommodation clients. Every cottage, hotel, campsite has its own personality which we really enjoy trying to capture. Clients Lanneves Cottage Holidays approached us to design them a logo and a website to promote their self-catering cottage in Lanivet, the heart of Cornwall. First we designed their logo, capturing the holiday feel. This lovely cottage has been thoughtfully decorated and comes with a private garden and access to vegetable patches and play equipment. We used the hens and chicks to suggest family and illustrated elements, which we picked up on the website, show the country location and homely feel. We used bright bold colours of rosy red, bright Cornish blue and a verdant green. Next was their website. We kept the handmade feel throughout with illustrative touches, bright and beautiful photographs and a contemporary mix of fonts. Using fading images on the Home page to suggest the life...

Surf Shop Signage

Image
I knew I was heading to Bude, but still forgot my camera, so my iPhone had to suffice. We had been meaning to take a shot of the new sign we designed for Bored Lizard Surf Shop for some weeks, and as the late Autumn sun slipped behind the shops, I made the most of the fading light. We created the brand for Laurent Calvez's surf shop a few years ago, and it was good to see it on Bude high street. He has steadily added the new logo and colours to different areas of his business including posters, advertising and website. Bored Lizard has become an established feature of the seaside town, and has expanded its stock available in the store and online.

Exhibition Displays

Image
With the Royal Cornwall Show fast approaching, a lot of our clients are planning how to make their stands eye catching and professional. What some may not be aware of though, is how cost effective display options can actually be. We have produced a number of signage variations for clients, specifically to take advantage of the space available at trade shows. You may have seen the story on this blog featuring the basic (but large!) banner for Wadebridge Bathroom Studio for last years Royal Cornwall Show. Above is a illustration of a banner stand, very useful for outdoor exhibitions, but we can produce displays to all requirements. Roller banners are very effective and economical, along with being practical and usable in many different situations. Whole stands can be designed as well. For more details, feel free to request some more information , as now is the best time to prepare for the coming season.

Wadebridge Bathroom Studio

Image
We have just last week put the finishing touches to the WBS project, waiting only on the fittings for one sign. You may have spotted the new sign at the top of Bess Park Road on Trenant Industrial Estate, it features their new branding and is pretty much unmissable! When the fittings arrive, the final sign will be fixed outside their large studio at the bottom of the hill, just past our studio. You may be aware that they are currently building new units at Perch, outside Wadebridge, a few hundred yards on from Whitecross. They will be moving their studio there along with a few other businesses. Keep an eye open as you drive between Wadebridge and Newquay to see how far along they are in the build. Their new website has been online for a while now, take a look at our portfolio to see it.

Wadebridge Bathroom Studio at the Show

Steph took this picture at the Royal Cornwall Show this week. She popped by the Wadebridge Bathroom Studios stand to see what the new banner we organised for them looked like. You'll have to drop by yourself to see what it looks like, as camera phones don't do it justice! They are on the Wadebridge Street. We really should have a stand ourselves next year!
