Joseph Bouzaglo at Pickle Design

Design Theory
Joseph Bouzaglo is currently undertaking a professional placement with us at Pickle Design, so we gave him the opportunity to write this week's blog post. This is what he had to say:

"I am currently undertaking a Professional Placement here at Pickle Deign. I am a post-graduate student on MA 20th Century Art & Design: Histories and Theories, at University College Falmouth. To support our learning on the course, we are encouraged to experience life in in real world creative businesses. Hopefully, we can also contribute something of our knowledge, so that there is an exchange.

"Pickle have been established around four years. Working with them is both stimulating and humbling. Stimulating, because they are passionate, excited by ideas and interested in their clients - as you would expect of a young design firm. However, it is also humbling. As a history student, my focus is pretty theoretical; I may have an overview of design's key turning points, of the factors that informed movements in design, and so on. But, that, of course is only half the story.

"The wheels of any busy, creative enterprise turn around the production of new ideas, problem solving and responding to client needs. I approached Pickle because they welcome the contribution of critical awareness to this creative energy. Their openness makes for an easy marriage of the two, and hopefully for more fresh ideas for their clients."
